Abby
“Pixie Kittens” get their names from their small size and the winglike shapes of their ears. Abby lives with her older sister Ginger in a larger community of their species. She tags along while her sister carries out important environmental surveys.
Abby is still a child, often charging headfirst into whatever piques her curiosity.

Concept Evolution
2011-2013
2011: Earliest Pixie Kitten I drew. This design would later become the springboard for Abby.
2013: First official Abby design. I was a year out of high school at this time.
This sketch always stands out to me as an example of how cluttered early Abby could look. There are a LOT of small zigzags and long flowing elements fighting for space.
The first 3D model I built of Abby. Achieved with Sculptris and Blender. I abandoned the giant zigzag across her abdomen.
Chest fur and a more stylized "hair bang" show up in late 2013.
2014-2015
2014: By this point, the chest fur and hair tuft have become permanent features. I was still unsure about Abby's legs, however.
Personal favorite art I've made of Abby (+ Ginger!). I integrated another one of my characters for this piece.
2015: Abby's ear "tassels" are noticeably shorter. I brought back the traditional bipedal legs, as they later proved more efficient for animation purposes.

Improved 3D Abby for a series of college courses. The eyes didn't come out the way I wanted, but it was a compromise after hours of struggling with Maya.
My 2015 Abby model was a significant improvement, but wasn't well optimized. These were the best expressions I could pose her in without breaking the limitations I had.
2016
2016: Abby was the mascot of my personal brand for several years. This image was used for my portfolio display as well as my livestream layout.
