Whenever I look at Sandshrew, its eyes are always the first to catch my attention. For me, the eyes of most rodents are a key part of their cutesy appearances, and Sandshrew’s are spot-on with matching that appeal.

Time to review the “other” generic bird of Gen I!

Every RPG just has to have an obligatory rat encounter, and Pokémon is no exception. Rattata is somehow more common than Pidgey (or at least it feels that way), making it one of those Pokémon that annoys the snot out of many fans.

A warning before I start this article: I love birds. They’re my all-time favorite animal. Therefore, it could create a bias with how I critique all the bird or birdlike Pokémon in this review series.
